Ważne w pracy online: giving advice/ udzielanie wskazówek i rad (4 All Users)

Mocno i jednoznacznie: Why don’t you … / You must … / You should … / tryb rozkazujący.

  • biznes: Why don’t you try to find a more suitable person for this position in the team (bardziej odpowiednia osoba na to stanowisko w zespole).
  • technologia: Why don’t you call the contractor and make sure the delivery comes on time (upewnić się, że dostawa przyjdzie na czas).
  • prawo: Why don’t you revise the contract to make sure there are no deficiencies (braki/ luki/ niedociągnięcia).

Pamiętajmy, że po czasownikach modalnych stosujemy bezokolicznik bez ‘to’:

  • lotnictwo: During the emergency situation you must keep calm and answer the questions asked by the ATC officer.
  • medycyna: You must change your lifestyle, otherwise you will suffer from the cardiovascular diseases (choroby układu naczyniowego).

  • technologia: Due to the frequent intrusions, we recommend immediate tightening of the security system (natychmiastowe uszczelnienie systemu zabezpieczeń/ systemu bezpieczeństwa).

Delikatnie, choć wszystko zależy od tonu głosu:)! May/ Might:

  • biznes: You might try to do it again but this time with more attention to detail (to zdanie może zabrzmieć naprawdę ostro, mimo dość delikatnej formy “might”)

Prevent from to bardzo przydatne wyrażenie używane w kontekście: zapobiec/ uniemożliwić, proszę zwrócić uwagę jak zmienia się tłumaczenie w języku branżowym:

Brits are proud of the NHS but it is difficult to get an appointment with a GP that fits in with work hours. That’s where a new startup Push Doctor hopes to make a difference. Patients can book a video conference with a GP at £19 for each ten-minute. Average waiting time can be a matter of minutes and prescriptions can be collected from a chemist of the customer’s choice following the consultation. Founder and CEO, Eren Ozagir was on a business trip to Baltimore:  “I was in my hotel feeling terrible and it just struck me, if you can get a car and even a taxi-boat through Uber, why isn’t there an app to get you speaking to a doctor?” he says.

Aviation Accident Statistics. Lotnictwo/ Biznes/ Technologia.

In 2015, a total of 348 persons died in accidents occurring on EU territory involving aircraft registered in the countries of the European Union.

Most air accident fatalities in 2015 (45 %) were registered in the category “Commercial air transport” an atypical situation as normally “General Aviation”, under the sub-category of aircraft with a maximum take-off mass (MTOM) of under 2250 kg (essentially small aeroplanes, gliders, “microlights”, and also balloons), has the highest share. In 2015, the latter category claimed 153  lives (44 % of the total). A further 10 % (corresponding to 36 fatalities) were registered in “Aerial Work” accidents. Only four persons (1 %) were killed in General Aviation accidents involving aircraft over 2250 kg MTOM.

For Commercial air transport in the European Union, the 155 fatalities in 2015 occurred in three accidents: one in Slovakia (4 fatalities), one in Spain (1 fatality), and one in France (150 fatalities).

A partly British-built hybrid electric plane could be flying by 2020 as the result of a collaboration between Airbus, Siemens and Rolls-Royce.  The manufacturers intend to  make commercial air travel running partly on electricity a reality (zrealizować). Technology could mean cleaner, quieter and cheaper journeys. They also raised the prospect of radically changing aircraft and airport design, allowing air travel to link with the fast rail for many more intercity journeys. Quieter and cleaner travel could mean airports situated much nearer city centres. In less developed countries it will offer the opportunity to move the mass transport from rail to flight.

The companies are running negotiations (prowadzą negocjacje) with the British government to partially fund the joint project, which could cost hundreds of millions of pounds. According to Rolls-Royce: “Aviation has been the last in the electrification of transport, and slow to catch up (nadrobić). This will be a new era of aviation. The primary challenge now is to accommodate (umieścić) the weight of a two-tonne battery storing electricity onboard a small plane.

Earlier this year, easyJet said it hoped to be flying planes powered by batteries rather than jet fuel within a decade shorter flights. The airline has signed a deal with the US engineering company Wright Electric to support the development of electric aircraft that could reach Paris and Amsterdam from London. Another US company, Zunum Aero, backed by Boeing, is building a 12-seater hybrid electric plane that it claims could hugely reduce operating costs for private jets. It has said the planes will be ready by 2022.

During the last long-distance flight, Airbus A330 pilot handled the approach (podejście) to the Dusseldorf Airport in the memorable way. The landing attempt was aborted (próba lądowania została przerwana) and the pilot performed a low pass (wykonał niski przelot)  around the control tower.  Some onlookers definitely enjoyed the view, however the some of the passengers reportedly screamed in terror (krzyczeli z przerażenia). Also, the people in the terminal were worried. Air Berlin has already suspended the pilot (zawiesili pilota) and the -co-pilot and German Federal Aviation Office is conducting the investigation (prowadzi śledztwo/ dochodzenie) . Following the incident the pilot said to ZDF: ‘We wanted to make a mark (wykonać gest) , a dignified and emotional goodbye (godne i emocjonalne pożegnanie)‘.
