  1. become- became- become (stać się/ zostać) I became a pilot many years ago. I became a pilot because I wanted my dreams come true (zrealizować marzenia).
  2. begin- began-begun (rozpocząć) I want to begin my career as a professional pilot when I have the required number of hours in the air (wymagana ilość godzin w powietrzu/ nalot).
  3. catch-caught-caught (złapać/ chwycić) He had to spend the night at the airport because he didn’t catch the last flight home.
  4. choose-chose-chosen (wybrać) The emergency situation required immediate decision and the pilot chose the right option.
  5. feel-felt-felt (czuć/ odczuwać) When the plane was caught in the windshear, the pilots and the passengers felt strong turbulences as the aircraft rapidly descended (gwałtownie obniżył pułap lotu).
  6. find-found-found (znaleźć) After some navigation problems, the pilot found the right vectors.

  16. see-saw-seen (zobaczyć/ dostrzec) The pilot saw the runway and landed safely (wylądował bezpiecznie).

  18. tell-told-told (powiedzieć komuś) The captain told the pilot to carry out the procedure.
  19. think-thought-thought (myśleć/ pomyśleć) The pilot thought that emergency landing was inevitable.
  20. understand-understood-understood (zrozumieć) ATC officer wanted to make sure that the pilot understood all the instructions.
  21. blow-blew-blown (wiać) The wind was blowing so strongly that the landing was impossible.
  22. freeze-froze-frozen (zamarzać) The drops of rain froze on the wings and deicing was necessary.
  23. shake-skook-shaken (trząść) All the fuselage was shaking in the turbulences.
