In my opinion one of the greatest challenges for the new manager, I mean the one who enters the team from the outside of the organization is to adopt the appropriate strategy which will win the people and encourage them to cooperate, especially if the organization is undergoing the change, ie. merger or acquisition process.

  • take up ‘waiting’ strategy – przyjąć strategię wyczekiwania
  • future is hazy – przyszłość jest niepewna
  • reluctant to adhere to …  – z niechęcią dostosowyać się do …
  • hostile – wrogi

In such case the manager’s position is constantly in danger: the employees might take up the ‘waiting’ strategy as the future is hazy. Thus, they may be reluctant to adhere to the new management ideas as they do not know what the future brings to them in a couple of months. They may be passive or even hostile.

  • professional attitude and conduct – profesjonale podejście oraz sposób postępowania
  • promptly – niezwłocznie
  • resist – opierać się
  • hardened – zatwardziały

I reckon the manager has to consult external specialist  who can provide the right advice, always keep the professional attitude and conduct, give clear vision and promptly eliminate from the team those individuals who resist any change and seem to be the most hardened ones.
